OUR BRAND VALUES
NEW ARRIVAL
Picnic Trivet | Fair Trade + Handwoven
There is something deeply grounding about gathering around a table - warm dishes set down, hands reaching, stories unfolding. Our Picnic Trivet becomes part of that moment, offering both protection and presence, a place where beauty and utility meet.
Handwoven in a warm, expressive palette, each piece carries the imprint of the hands that made it. The colors feel both vibrant and rooted - drawn from natural dyes and thoughtful design - bringing a sense of life and movement to the table. Whether used daily or brought out for shared meals, it becomes more than a functional object - it becomes part of the ritual.
Key Features:
- Handwoven by Women Artisans: Crafted by women of the Batoro tribe in the mountains of Western Uganda, each trivet reflects generations of weaving knowledge. Through cooperative work, these pieces help support single mothers, widows, and women creating additional income for their families.
- Natural + Sustainable Materials: Made from raffia and banana fibers, both sustainably sourced and renewable. The structure is created by wrapping hand-dyed raffia around coiled banana fibers, resulting in a piece that is both durable and beautifully textured.
- Plant-Based, Handcrafted Dyes: Colored using AZO-free and natural dyes derived from plants grown and processed within the artisans’ villages. Each hue carries the knowledge, care, and tradition of its maker.
- Functional + Decorative Use: Designed to protect surfaces from hot dishes while adding visual warmth to your table. Equally suited as a trivet, centerpiece base, or decorative accent.
- One-of-a-Kind Variations: No two pieces are exactly alike. Subtle differences in color, pattern, and weave speak to the handmade nature of each trivet.
There is a quiet story woven into each piece - of place, of skill, of hands working with intention. Set beneath a shared meal, our Picnic Trivet becomes part of something larger: connection, care, and the beauty of what is made slowly.
