OUR BRAND VALUES
NEW ARRIVAL
Whirlwind Trivet | Fair Trade + Handwoven
Our Whirlwind Trivet carries the energy of movement in its spiral form, each curve unfolding from the center outward in a rhythm that feels both dynamic and grounded.
Handwoven with care, the pattern draws the eye inward and then back out again, creating a quiet sense of motion on the table. It brings a layered presence to everyday moments - resting beneath a warm dish, anchoring a simple meal, or adding depth to a shared gathering. Both functional and expressive, it holds space for what is placed upon it while offering something of its own.
Key Features:
- Handwoven by Batoro Women Artisans: Created in the rural mountains of Western Uganda, each trivet reflects the skill and tradition of women artisans working within a supportive cooperative. These efforts provide meaningful income and opportunity for single mothers, widows, and marginalized women.
- Natural + Sustainable Materials: Crafted from raffia and banana fibers, both renewable and locally sourced. The structure is formed by wrapping hand-dyed raffia around coiled banana fibers, creating strength and intricate design.
- Plant-Based, AZO-Free Dyes: Colored using natural dyes derived from plants grown and processed within the artisans’ communities. Each tone reflects a deep knowledge of material and process.
- Striking Spiral Design: The swirling pattern creates a sense of motion and visual depth, making each piece both a functional trivet and a statement on the table.
- One-of-a-Kind Craftsmanship: No two pieces are exactly alike. Variations in color, pattern, and weave speak to the handmade nature of each trivet.
There is a story held within each coil - of hands, of place, of time given to making something both useful and beautiful. Set at the table, our Whirlwind Trivet becomes part of that story, woven quietly into the moments we share.
