How to Use:

Light the very tip of stick only, wait for a few seconds before wafting out the flame. Place delicately in a holder and leave to gently smolder, filling your space with pure plant essence.

I absolutely love this incense sampler! First, it's hard to hope by an online description that a particular fragrance will match your expectations, so a small sample pack is great for exploring new brands. It's a solid collection of single notes and blends. Second, this is one of the few incenses I can tolerate and I've tried many varieties. Charcoal, essential oils, incense on a wood/bamboo core, etc. all produce smoke that is irritating and cloying to me. If you're sensitive, but love the experience of really high quality incense, give this brand a try! I saw another comment that they were underwhelming, and for some folks, that may be true, but for me - someone who has been searching for the perfect delicate incense for meditation and ritual, Ume can't be beat. I'm so glad to have found a maker creating incense the way it was meant to be crafted and Cultiverre for curating such a lovely collection of high-quality essentials.

This was pretty expensive for so few pieces, they burn really fast, and they don’t have much scent. They’re not terrible but definitely need improvement, in my opinion.

These incense are incredible. I love the variety as have been using them as part of my morning ritual when I make my espresso. I haven't yet found a scent I don't like. In fact, I just ordered a regular size box of one of the scents that I can't get enough of. The small glass tubes they come in are adorable and great for re-use. Highly recommend this offering!!!

The scents are wonderful and the packaging is adorable, however the corks don't fit particularly tightly so some of them arrived open and scattered inside the packaging. It would have been helpful to be able to distinguish between all of the scents, although I do like them all.

A lovely little way to sample the brand and decide on your favorite. I'll be blunt, these are great for the bathroom. When a small space needs a little something to cover up other aromas, one of these little stucks does the trick perfectly. And such cute packaging!

Emma Leafe founded UME in 2011 after her own healing experiences and journeys through temples, tea houses, and sacred places around the world. Designed in London, the collection brings together Japanese-style incense and hand-thrown stoneware holders inspired by wabi-sabi simplicity. The incense is composed of aromatic plant materials such as bark, seeds, herbs, roots, and resins, without synthetic fragrance, bamboo cores, or charcoal fillers. Each element is chosen to let fragrance become a threshold: a way of changing the atmosphere and entering more fully into the moment.
